I am a therapist, why should I refer a client for testing?

There are many times when the psychological profile presented by a client is
not clear or when we believe there may be underlying issues hindering
progress. Psychological testing is an accurate and efficient way to identify
those issues. When I complete psychological testing with a client, I provide
the therapist with a clinical picture of the client that they can then use in
therapy services. The psychological tests administered are tailored to each
client and therapist referral.

I am a client, why should I complete testing?

Psychological testing is a way to help a client and their therapist clarify and
quantify current difficulties. Often psychological and emotional difficulties
are difficult to express and identify.  By completing psychological testing,
these difficulties can be identified for you and your therapist to address.
After testing is completed, I will provide a report to you and your therapist
detailing the results. If desired, I can also meet with you and your therapist
to discuss the results.

How much does testing cost?

It is difficult to provide a standard cost for psychological testing as every
situation is unique. In general, psychological testing costs $125 per hour.

Will my insurance pay for psychological testing?

Most insurance plans provide coverage for psychological testing. Prior to
testing administration, we can provide information regarding what cost, if
any, a client will be responsible for. I strive to ensure tests are within the
constraints of your insurance.

Where are psychological tests completed?

All psychological tests are completed at the Associated Counseling
Professionals office. Testing sessions can be conducted during the day or in
the evenings.
