PHILOSOPHY

even though difficulties exist, each person possesses emotional and spiritual strengths
as well as the capacity to change.  Listening and understanding are also a part of trust,
with the goal of developing insight into the current problems. It is important to honor one's
thoughts and feelings; in fact, this is the first part of the change process.   A final part of
trust involves collaboration, wherein the individual and therapist discuss goals and plan
the work to be undertaken in counseling.
