About Kim Lenihan

I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and Level 1 certified Internal Family Systems therapy practitioner. I am dedicated to helping people find their way through life’s challenges. I enjoy working with clients to find purpose and meaning in their lives. I have experience treating depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

As a Level 1 Internal Family Systems (IFS) trained therapist, I incorporate therapeutic approaches that help clients develop greater self-awareness to help achieve balance, harmony, and wholeness. I am a holistic practitioner attending to the mind, body, and spirit. I use my extensive experience in nursing, primary care, functional medicine, and research to educate clients on how to support the body to assist mental health treatment and outcomes. I use grounding techniques to help the brain find new solutions to problems. These techniques include breathwork (yoga and HeartMath) and sound healing with tuning forks and singing bowls.

I believe everyone needs therapy and that sometimes we need support with medication. It is important to come to our sessions invested in improving your mental health through work. I will work with you in co-developing a treatment plan that best serves your goals using evidence-based treatments. I do not prescribe controlled substances such as stimulants, opioids, or benzodiazepines.
